Im debating on putting a new exhaust on my truck. Probably just change out the stock muffler. I did this on my 02 Dodge and loved the sound. I put a flowmaster on that one, not sure what one though. Ive been researching the 50 series and that sounds nice. I dont like the super loud or obnoxious roar, just the low rumble. Enough to let you know that its not stock, but doesnt blow the glass out of the guy next to you. Like stated, my last flowmaster muffler was perfect. So, has anyone tried the 50 series yet or have any suggestions for my preference? Also anyone running a different intake with their exhaust? Thanks for the information!

I had the 40-series on a 2000 Dodge Ram w/360 dumped right after the muffler and it was pretty loud. I now have the 50-series on my current Ram and it's dumped right over the rear axle and sound a lot better IMHO. I mounted in place of the factory muffler and cut and fitted the rest of the factory pipe around it. Here's the best pic of the tail-end for you that I have:

Don't know what year or engine your running, but the super 40's sound sweet. depending on how ya dump em will determine the noise. Dump em under, loud, out the back, not so bad...I went in between, in front of both rears with true duals, sounds just right!! :D

I'd like to see some more pics of how your exhaust is routed if you don't mind..

Had 50 series on my previous 4.7L and it sounded like a race engine. I couldn't get enough of it. My DynoMax sounds similar now...but much less $$.

Thanks for the sound clip. I think if I leave the stock exhaust and just put the 50 series on that would quiet it just a little more. I like the sound, its a little raspy when reved up, but like I said I think if I leave the stock piping it would still sound pretty good.
