Hello all - figured I had a great response from my previous built, that I would post what I am doing to the 1500 these days. (If I keep it more than 2 years, really want to get back into a 2500 - even a POWER WAGON! We will see how that goes!
Guess I better get you all caught up on the build so far.
2017 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4 Crew Cab
Delmonico Red
Plans for this truck are as follows (again pending above commen to the power wagon! haha)
4" Lift
35" Toyo RT Tires
20" XD Boss II wheels (copper version)
Backflip hard cover
painted front and rear bumpers
painted grill
painted door handles
black Ram emblems throughout
20% window tint on all windows
Love doing the rear bumper lights, this time instead of a cube version, did something different. Not sure I am 100% on them - but they do provide some good light back there! Flood version!
I was stopped - didn't even see the guy hit me. Hit me hard - the guy in front of me said he saw me come up out of my seat. I know I did cause my foot came off the brake pedal and tapped the guy in front of me. Totalled that Dodge Stratus! Couldn't even guess what it was front the front view.
my truck had a bent rear and front bumper - the exhaust was pushed in. No damage to the body OR THE TAILGATE!!!
The bed was perfect still as you can see in the last picture!
Body shop that I know and love hooked me up. Instead of the chrome bumpers, we did the paintable ones - and since my grill was a bit off of color too - they were able to spray that as well.
I just wish now that I had them do the door handles while they had it. I would have paid extra for that... but oh well.
And since I didn't like the backup lights in the rear bumper - I didn't have them put those back in!
OH! And I got new exhaust. They were going to spend $1200 on factory exhaust. So I had them order a 5" tip Magnaflow 21" stainless steel kit from Moes! Sounds great! $820 exhaust kit!!
Is it just me - or even doing the simplest thing with a stock truck feels weird!? Like going out shooting with some friends - just having a stock truck didn't feel as 'cool' as I have felt in the past.. like the truck isn't capable of going off road.. lol I can't wait for a lift kit and some 35" tires!!!
Lookin' good, Sir! Love the look of it all one color, leveled out and with new wheels/tires. Isn't it amazing what OEM's want for their parts?! It's great that you were able to work with the body shop to get that new exhaust instead of a $1200 OEM setup.
I did my own bedliner again. Used the Raptor Kit from U-POL. Did a little section of the front bumper that I keep hitting offroading..
Did a Rough Country Tri Fold hard cover (Got from the wife for Christmas)
Thinking about putting lights in the rear bumper again like I did on my 2500. But not the same style I had before on this 1500.. The cube flushed mount type..
