Stock muffler?

I'm about to get a custom 3"/3" out muffler made from MBRP and i need to know the length of the stock muffler. I have a choice between 12" and 20" and i can't decide which one i want. I want it to be QUIET so i'm leaning towards the 20" but i don't want to sacrifice too much power.
