I took the sending unit out and got an oil pressure test gage hooked to it right now and it reads about two psi at warm idle. I does motor swap and put new timeing chains in it and looked clean in side motor only has 126 miles on it. All I have to do is get this oil problem figured out and it will be like a new car. Do the 4.7 have a plennum gasket on them?? Should I put an oil pump in it or bearings? mybe plastic gage it ????

It has good pressure at cold idle but as it warms up the pressure slowly drops off. I checked all the pvc vales and tubes today and clean them all and still doing same thing. Can a missing o ring on the pick up tube make the pressure drop off once it is at operating temp?? Can the oil pan be removed from car with motor still in if I have to do oil pump/ or bearings. Or should I just do both and not only one. I have a 4.7 ho in my 04 grand Cherokee overland and it has 140000 with no problems oil is changed every 3000. I have had four cars with 4.7 in them with no problems.
