I just aquired a new VES DVD system off of sleezebay. and was wondering
if someone can give me some pointers to the install

I have already searched and found some tips about removing the headliner etc..

My '04 Hemi Sunroof equipped SLT has the REC radio, so it should plug into the HU.
I believe what I bought <sic> has everything included. So harness and bracket too.

Pics of merchandise.

There is a thread somewhere here where Gary (Hemi x 2) did the install and had some great pointers. Maybe he'll chime in soon.

This is from the description:
It is new and never installed Everything seems to be there and it will come packed in original shipping box with all the original protective inserts

Total cost to me was: $355 plus $20 shipping ~ $375

So with this being a 'new' system and not a pull I thought I got a good deal.

Thanks Gary,

I had found those, but handy to have the links in a posting here

Well I received the stuff... and it's really brand new.
It includes a Mopar paper template for the headliner and instruction manual

I'll see if I can scan the manual and post it here and to my site.

My D has the sunroof.
The kit I bought came with two brackets
one for the sunroof, and one without sunroof.

In short the steps were:

- close sunroof and sunroof cover
- disconnect the - (negative) battery cable
- Unplug existing Radio harness (two plugs, large and small)
(take off bezel, unscrew radio )
- Take of Bezel under instrument -steering wheel- cluster (2x Torx 15)
- Take of Driver's Side A Pillar bezel -just pull, it's connected with clips)
- Remove rubber weather stripping drivers side and rear Sunroof. (gives access to the headliner for snaking the wire thru)
- Unscrew Sun Visor (2x Torx 25) - (you can leave it connected, just hang it down)
- Snake cable tru instrument cluster (black small connector goes to VES)
- snake under steering column, up to the A Pillar (connect to other cabling with tie-strips), past a little foam block in the headliner, right before the rear driver's side Vent.
- cut out supplied template
- tape the cutout template to the headliner.
- Use box cutter to cut the hole for the mounting bracket
- Snap off rear dome light -careful plastic- . The mounting bracket screws into existing holes in the ceiling under this light.
- Attach correct metal bracket (mine was sunroof) to the ceiling using existing holes
- re-attach radio with new harness, the original "small" connector is then not used, instead use the new "small" connector from the VES harness to get the sound thru speakers and 900mhz wireless headphones
The old existing "big" male plug, plugs into the new female harness, from there to the Radio (mine was a REC -6cd btw)

- attach dome light
- attach wiring harness to VES
- Click the VES into the metal bracket.
- Re-attach the weather stripping from the sunroof
- Re-attach the Sun Visor
- Re-attach all other bezels ( A pillar, instrument, radio)
- Attach - battery wire.
- Start and hopefully enjoy.

I'll add pics later. Whole process took around 3 hours.
