How long does it take your hemi to reach operating temp?

How long does your 5.7 Hemi take to reach operating temperature in the winter months? I ask because mine seems to take forever and i get about to the first marker on the temp gauge after 20 minutes of warming up in under 30dF temperatures. I usually let it warm up every morning in the winter for this reason for about 20-25 minutes, after i leave and drive about 5 miles on the highway it is up to full operating temp then and the heat is blasting. This has been like this as long as i can remember since i had bought it (8 months in 2007)

I ask because a guy at work bought a new Tundra with a V8 and he says he gets full heat in less than 5 minutes?! Do these new vehicles have electric heat or something?

Only thing i can think of is that my tstat is stuck open, but i replaced that back in 2009 or so for whatever reason and I am pretty sure the problem was happening before that. Do they just take that long to warm up before the heat is really kicking in?

Thanks

Idle for 20 minutes the to il to about 40-50% warmed up. Drive off and pretty much immdealtey get on the highway and 5 miles laters it at full op temp

Why would you burn gas for 20 minutes just to warm the engine?
Give a few minutes and then drive it.

If in the first 12 minutes of driving it doesn't come to full temp - your t-stat may be stuck open (again).
