Help With A/c Pwr Steering Belt Tensioner Removal

Yesterday, my son and I worked on replacing the two belts (alt and the a/c and power steering belts) on this 2004 SXT Neon.

After reading our haynes manual, we were able to access, remove and replace the alternator belt easily.

However, the a/c and pwr steering belt tensioner broke, I have metal pieces on my counter now. Also, after the tensioner slipped back to it original position, it also cracked the plastic pully directly above it so I have to replace that too.

The haynes manual stated theres a 17mm bolt to rotate to relase tension. I don't have a 17mm bolt on the belt tensioner. Not sure if the previous owner snapped it off or 2nd gen Neons are designed differently then 1st gen neons.

How many bolts are there to take off the a/c and pwer steering belt tensioner? I can't see any bolts to remove on the belt tensioner.

HELP PLEASE! tHANK YOU.

A/c And Pwer Steering Pully Belt Tensioner

Update: I just called the dealership here in Glen Burnie, MD and was quoted $325 for the A/C & Power Steering pully belt tensioner. The belt tensioner is attached to a metal plate that is one part for a 2004 SXT 2.0L automatic neon.

My question: When I looked at 1st gen Neon's (older Neon's) at the local auto salvage/junk yard, they looked the same. The Power Steering Pully was different but the tensioner appeared to be the same.

Neon experts: Is the belt tensioner on 1st gen and 2nd gens Neons the same? If I can buy a used belt tensioner in good condition, I prefer to go that route.

I greatly appreciate your help in this.

Anyone pull or replace their plastic power steering pully on the 2nd gen neon's? my pully puller is not helping me get that darn pully off the spindle. It does pull off right?
