The first weekend, we did the water pump, radiator, and the spark plugs, and got it at least driveable. I drove it this week, and homed in on a few more trouble spots with it, and figured out that it needed a heater core, some blend door work, and some odds and ends.

Some pics.....

Lots of room in here with everything taken apart!

Here's Max working on the blend door system, and cleaning the pooled coolant out of the A/C box....

I'm particularly proud of this. The coolant leak from the heater core ate the foam off of the blend door itself, so we cut new material, and used industrial adhesive to repair it.

The big picture.....this is what bad coolant gets you. Old coolant will turn acidic, which makes things rust, and then starts eating aluminum things. No doubt this is where this truck's "coolant leak that we could never find" was at.

Not too shabby. We pulled the dash, and A/C box, replaced the heater core, repaired the blend door, put it all back, recharged the A/C, and replaced the window switch bezel and sun visor that were broken, and we did it in nine hours, with no air tools, and didn't have one single screw left over.
