Fuel Tank Capacity and RPM Red Line on Durango

Help...

I have 2 questions:

1- What is the Fuel Tank Capacity of the Dodge Durango SLT + 4X4 AWD with a 5.9 L engine... the reason I ask is that it says in the Manual that the car has a 25Gallon tank, however, when I am apparently running on Reserve and I fill the Car up, I get a Max of 17 Gallons... so in my estimate, my car would have an 18 to 20 Gallon Tank...

2- My RPM gauge does not have a Red line... anyone knows what the Red Line is on the Durango with 5.9L engine...

Much appreciated,,,,

Thanks...

Answer to question #2, I have a 99 5.9 4x4 and my red line is 4750RPM. If you have read my recent post....I am having shifting problems and it pulls pretty hard through 5400-5500PPM from 1st to 2nd gear. If I can get mine to shift at 5200RPM I believe this would be optimal for the mods I have done to my truck. Hope this helps.

1 - You should have a 25 gallon tank. Some folks have even pushed a little more into it. More than likely the float isn't set properly in the fuel tank. Usually, when my low fuel light comes on (about 40 miles DTE) I can only get 20-21 gallons in the tank. Have never put more than 23 gallons in.
Aside - don't let your tank run empty. The fuel acts as a heat sink and helps keep your fuel pump from burning out.

2 - The tach on my 2000 5.9L shows Orange at 5000 and Red at 5500. I've never really checked to see where the WOT cut-off is though.
