Well, Im completely stumped. I have a rattle noise going over bumps. Sound is coming from the passenger side. I thought it was my outer tie-rod ends since I had some play. So I replaced them. Noise is still there. So then after searching for rattle posts on here I saw someone say their sway bar links were rattling. So I took mine off and went for a drive. Noise is still there. Everything is tight. The only thing I can think is maybe my front shock on that side is making the noise, but it doesnt seem to be leaking and the truck feels solid and rebounds well to a bounce test.

I have checked everything from loose exhaust to loose nerf bars and cant find this DAMN rattle!!

Anyone have anymore ideas???????? Please post and help out a guy who is about to buy a new Ram to get rid of this noise!!! LOL!!!!!!

I know some people have had noises develop from their hood latch mechanism. Check that for play? Also give the headlights a gentle tug to make sure they're secured at all points.

My rattle was my shock... the lower bolt loosened up and made an incredible loud knock and rattle in the cab. Its amazing how some noises just amplify under the body.

My guess is a shock too, My 02 when I bought it had the same problem and it was the shock.

I have a similar sound and it is heard typically under 50 mph. I feel mine is more the Left side. I too have gone over everything. On mine it isn't the shocks.

I had a knocking on the right side and some vibration........it was a loose A arm.....I guess the dealership didn't tighten it up after hey replaced the right front wheel bearing hub assembly

Well rattle is still there. Took the pass side spindle off today while replacing the hub assembly, and the ball joints didnt feel like they had any loose play in them. The hub had play so I hoped that was the noise. It wasnt. I even took my grill off today to see if that was the rattle and that wasnt it. I can figure this out. Everything seems tight!

We could start a list of potential causes.

1. Hood latch mechanism
2. Hood shocks
3. Cowl screw
4. Windshield wiper mechanisms
5. Control Arm bushings
6. Shock mounts
7. Antenae mount
8. Brake pads
9. Front sway bar mount
10. Passenger side front speaker
11. Passenger window switch
12. Penny in the A/C
13. ???

OK! Ceri, you are a god!!!!!!! Got to thinking about it. And realized the noise started after a recent brake job. Bought some "breake quiet" from O'reilys. and the rattle is GONE!!!!

Thanks for all the ideas guys!

Ceri, I owe you a beer bro!!!!!
