door panels??????

does anyone know where i can get a set of door panels for my 85 prospector the only thing that i have found is some cheap knock off that only come in black
i need maroon ones with the woodgrain inserts or if anyone has any lying around for decent price let me know :rck:

They used to be offered in various colors in J.C. Whitney catalog, but that was some time back. I don't know if the company which molded them still does so in color.

You can buy the black panels and paint them any color in which SEM interior spray paint is offered. It is specifically blended to stick to flexible plastic. I buy it at my local NAPA.

yeah thats the route i was gonna go dupli-color has a new vinel and plastic paint thats pretty close but i would like to get color molded if possible havent had much luck with the paint sticking usually flakes off in a month or two but thats just me

You can go to an O'reilly or an auto body supply and they can mix some SEM interior paint that is sprayed through a gun and sticks very well. I used some about 15 years ago on my buddys dash cover for a blazer and other than losing some of the sheen it looked great. No flaking. Seems like it was about 15 bucks a quart, 15 years ago.

yea i can get it for around 10 bucks through my business i run a mobile body shop so i can get pretty good deals on stuff like that lol i can pribly fix mine just the heat has severly rotted the outer fake vinel looking crap on mine but if you rub it with some 320 grit sand paper it will smooth right out so i think i might try this

its too bad, i was at oceana salvage the other day and there was a set w/o the woodgrain, but i have the inserts in the set i got for my truck since i'm gonna reuse the carpet on mine. it should be there next pay day when i go ill check for ya

im down in fayetteville started sanding them down and they smoothed out pretty good im gonna clean them up and hit em with an adhesin promoter i think im gonna shoot them the same color my paint company claims that they can mix me up a color that will exactly match the original interior color using there brand of paint so i think i might try that and let ya know how it goes its only gonna cost me 5 bucks a quart i figured its cheap enough
