I have an 06 ram 4.7L 6 speed my clutch has been squeeking when I push the pedal down. I took a look at it today the switch that wont let you start it unless the clutch is dissengaged is afloat on the shaft. There is allso a plastic part and a ring of foam floating around on there. Isn't it supposed to be attached to the firewall? it only has 12,000 miles on it. I'm going to take it to the dealer monday or tues I just want to make sure it has an issue before I bring it to the dealer.

I'll look at my manual tomorrow but I still think it has an issue. It stopped squeaking the squeak is proubly that foam peace catching on the rod. I have a feeling its all supposed to be attached together on the firewall.

hey thanks ggravant thats just what I needed and it looks like mine is going back to the dealer because mine is not attatched like yours. So I'll bring it back again for warranty work. Whats the list of warranty work done so far front wheel bearings, rebalance tires, a right axle seal, front differential actuator( went during a snow storm I got stuck really bad also because of it) and now this clutch issue. All in less than 12,000 miles and 1 year. But that is what the warranty is for

Maybe you got the dreaded "truck built on a Friday afternoon" truck.

Or even worse, the "built at 9AM on Monday morning" truck.

I think the best is probably a "Tuesday or Wednesday mid morning" built truck.

The clutch switch is SUPPOSED to "float" on the shaft. So no talk of it being built on a friday :p . Secondly, there's a TSB for a "quack" (I S**t you not, thats DC's wording) coming from the clutch pedal as it is depressed. The fix entails lightly greasing the linkage at the pivot point between the pedal and the MC rod and along the MC rod.
