Can power seats be swapped in place of non power seats?

I've got a 2008 1500 QC with manual seats. They suck, end of story. I'm wanting to swap in a set of 2008 2500 power seats. I already know the brackets match up, and the seat belt can be moved from the seat to the floor, but now I'm stuck on the wiring. Under my manual seat, there is one big plug, and that's it.

For those with the power seats, how many plugs and harnesses are under your seat? I'm wondering if I would need an entirely new wiring harness.

Thanks, Lucas

I did this exact same thing. I swapped out my garbage stock seats for a nice set of mega cab seats. Only the drivers seat is powered. (2008 for 2008)and the plugs just matched up. I had no problems. There is an extra smaller plug coming from the drivers seat and it has power so I used it to hook up an extra 12v plug in in my center seat console. Tougest part of the whole swap getting the seatbelts right.

Ok, right now on my 08 1500 QC there is one big plug under the seat. It comes out from under the carpet, and plugs into a harnes on the manual seat. So you're saying that this is the plug that the 2500 seats plug into? There are several motors on the 2500 seat, are they all run off one harness, and this one harness plugs into the big plug coming from under the carpet?

Do you know what the extra smaller power plug was originally used for? Also, as far as the seatbelts, I was just planning on unbolting them from the seats, and bolting them to the floor. I already found the threaded bungs in the floorboard under the carpet. Is this where you mounted your belts.

Thanks for all the help, Lucas

It was just plug and play for me. The big plug in my floor matched right up with the one from the Mega cab seats. I had to do nothing else electrically. I'm guessing that the small plug was for the power outlet in the mega's center console. I had to splice into it in order to put in the power outlet that I put in the center seat compartment because it was from an 05 and the plugs didn't match.

As for the seatbelt. ....The only thing I had to do was bend the mount so it would fit up against the inside of the cab...you will understand what I'm saying as soon as you try to bolt it to the floor. Have fun...it really is easy and makes a huge difference!
