Does anybody have any information to share about the power wire. I'm considering (?) installing one on my '06 D, but don;t know if it's worth it or not. I'm not really sure what it does or what to expect. I have no mods, besides a drop in K&N filter, and don't plan to install a CAI. Will I notice any gains?

The rumor is 7-10 rwhp will you notice? Doubtful! You certainly will notice the better fuel economy. For the money you can't go wrong!

I have heard alot of good things about the power wire (slight power increase & better mileage). I want to order one too, but right now they are out of stock.

You won't regret that discission! I got mine 6 weeks ago or so and just love it (fuel consumption). Power is hard to say, if you are beside a stock truck that is comparable and you smoke him you picked up some horses. All I can say WOT still puts a big smile on my face.

Do you have other mods (CAI, ect.)? I don't really open it up very often...maybe to pass someone on a 2 lane HW...am I going to notice a difference any other way? You say fuel consumption...under normal driving conditions, how much can I expect to gain? How much did the wire cost? Is it as simple as just plugging it in?

I have a TBS (which is questioned to do anything?!) CAI, Jet Chip, powerwire and Corsa exhaust.
The power wire is 45$ and takes you 2 minutes to install (plug and play). Savings in fuel I would guess 1.5 mpg in average.
Don't buy the wire for the power gain, that is so marginal...but you will notice on fuel!

that;s what I;m wanting to hear. Thanks for the info...Air Ram thanks you, too! How long does it take them to re-stock...I know they're sold out right now. Guess I can just put one on back order...

Thanks again.

Right on your Air intake, there is a little sensor with a connector (blue color) unplug the connector, plug in the power wire...done. I guess with the stock intake it is still all accessible. :rck:

I just got a PM back from Nick (AIR RAM) and he gave me a link to the new AIR RAM site..nice...anyway, yes the Power Wire has gone up $5..I just ordered mine and will let you know how it all goes...any input/feedback from others is welcomed!!! I read on a Ram thread that a larger than expected group buy on here for a Power Wire/Air Ram combo put him in a bad spot with regards to profits...thus the price raise in my opinion...

hey sca,
what engine do you have?? my K&N intake has the sensor in the side like yours but the cord that leads out of it goes into a taped up bundle of wires, etc...not a clear cut plug in at the other end..i'll take a pic to explain if needed

I remember he used to do a $10 discount for dodgetalk members, might want to ask him about that when ordering... He also has a forum in the dodgetalk sponsor forums with a thread linked to the new site and a few threads about the power wire.

The cable has a connector which plugs into the sensor so you dont have to trace it back to the harness. Unplug the cable from the sensor right at the intake.

Isnt anyone concerned about moisture getting inside the connector over time as it seems like its not being protected from moisture. Right now it may be ok but over time moisture may start to wick itself inside the wire and corrode.
