Good luck sir, I have been looking for a new tank since january. The one on my 90 has a huge hole in the top so I can only fill it 3/4 to the top. Sadly no one makes replacement fuel tanks for these trucks. I am about ready to custom build my own out of sheet metal. Maybe a tank from a 2nd gen ram might do the trick. I haven't looked at that option yet.
junkyards/ parts truck on craigslist/ all i can say is good luck, mine cracked on my 82 d150, i got luck & found (1) w250 pre 85 out of about 10 j/y, cost me $100.00 w/sending unit but well worth it.
try that tank repair stuff you get at the auto stores.works really well. i had a big hole in the top of mine when i bought it and sealed it up with some of that repair stuff...haven't had a problem since.
