'03 GC - Rear Air Conditioning - Fan Speeds

The fan for the rear air conditioning on our '03 GC (118K) only works on high speed. It just stopped working on Low & Medium speed last weekend. It doesn't matter if we use the rear speed control (rear overhead console) or the front (main) console switch. Since we're in Florida this fan runs a lot on slow or medium speed.
Is it normal for one (or two in this case) speeds to go out on motor. Or is it more likely one of the switches is worn out? If the motor windings are bad, would it just not work at all?
Thanks in advance,
Ray

The rear blower motor is probably just fine. Those blower speeds are controlled by resistor packs & one of the resistors within that pack that make the fan speeds slower have failed. The high speed setting goes through that resistor pack as well but that circuit doesn't have to go through any of the resistors so it still works fine. 5019189AA is the OE part number for the rear resistor pack. You can punch that number into rock auto's website and find an aftermarket equivalent for about $16 plus shipping. In my experience, it's usually the front blower resistor packs that fail on the caravans so keep in mind that you may someday have to replace another resistor pack for the front too. That one is relatively easy to get at under the glove box.
