I am going to place an order for a torque converter on Monday. I have no allegiance to Edge or APS, so I called them both. Wayne at APS and Andre at Edge were both very helpful. They both explained the benefits of a performance torque converter and what I could expect from their products.
But, as with any product, both claim theirs is the best. APS claims to be the most efficient, and so does Edge. Both significantly improve off the line performance and promise quicker ET's. Both can be produced to look just like the stock converter (something I wanted). With the GB going on, the APS converter is the same price as Edge.
So, which one do I choose? Wayne at APS was a better salesman in my opinion (explaining what type of materials he uses, what I can expect performance-wise, and why this is the best). Andre did a good job too, but when I got off the phone I didn't think, "Wow, I need give him $500." So, I'm torn.
Can you guys provide any additional information I may be missing?
Most importantly, in your opinions, is the mod really worth the $800 it will cost me after labor and fluids?
