ok i just bought a 98 short bed single cab ram 1500 auto with a 5.2 motor YESTERDAY...the person i bought it from drove it to my home..i got in it today to move it and in reverse it acts fine with normal throttle.but if you accelerate a litle harder and i dont mean hard enought to spin the tires on wet pavement it jumps up in revs so i stoped and accelerated again and i got to like 2500 rps then it started to BARELY move whats goin on i paid 1500$ for it and it has 115,000 miles great body in and out..so please help me i feel like i just threw away my money.. :VHOT:

welcome to the boards! first off $1500 sounds like a really good price. as for your transmission problem, have you checked the fluid in the transmission? check its level and what it smells like. also make sure the shifter is properly in reverse not half way between reverse and neutral or something stupid.
