I have a 2005 Ram 1500. Its whining sound is all the time while moving. It has nothing to do with the engine. When going down the road and turning the wheels to the right, the sound will go away, but not when turning to the left. I have taken off 1 of my front tires and also the caliper and spun the rotor by hand and I can here a small grinding sound.
If this is the problem, how do I fix it? This does not have the bearing and shaft from the old style of trucks that I know.

Sounds like you need to replace your wheel hub bearing assembly.

Make sure you buy one with a Timken bearing and not anything cheaper unless yo want to replace it again
