I am getting ready to get the supplies to make a pvc cai,
at auto zone the have the k&n for around $50 and another
no name one for $25 is the k&n really worth the extra or
will the cheaper one do the same thing? looking at them
the material looks the same but im not really sure. has anyone seen or used the cheaper one or should i just spend
the extra and get the k&n?

thanks

I live by the motto you get what you pay for. It's only 25$ bucks for your $38,000 truck.

Since you are going the cheap route with the CAI you might as well go the cheap route with the filter.

I went to a friend of mines shop today who happens to be a plumber and raided the scrap pile so i have some 3" and some 4" pvc, i havent decide which to use yet but the 4" looks huge. if i go with the 3" which k&n will fit?

Go 4" because there is a difference in performance.

The K&N RF-1008 is as follows.

Filter Top OD 5-7/8

Filter Base Diameter 4-1/2

Mounting Surface ID 4-1/2

Filter Length 8-3/8
