When I first start my 1990 van if I touch the brake it stalls and as long as I have my foot on the break pedal it will not start. Later in the day it is fine and the brakes work fine. It seems to be worse on damp days. Help

That's an interesting problem.

Before you start the van in the morning, try unplugging the brake light switch...which is under the dash by the brake pedal.

If the van starts and stays running when you push the brakes, then it's an electrical problem. If it still stalls I'd say you have a bad brake booster.

This morning I unpluged the brake switch to try what you suggested but the van would not start with the brake switch unpluged. When I pluged it back in it started. I will take the switch off the brake peddle and see if that helps. Thanks
