i have an 05 1500 5.7 4X4 with 3.92s, and am thinking about going to 4.56's. What do the parts cost, and is it possible to install yourself? How much is labor usually on an install like this?

I don't think this is something you would want to do yourself unless you have experience and the right tools ... I believe it is fairly complicated. I have heard anywhere from $800 to $2000+ to swap gears ... so shop around.

On a 4X4 it get expensive.

Around $200-$300 for each set of gears (too lazy to look up the receipts), then I paid $300 to have the rears put in and $600 for the fronts.

So thats $1300-$1500.

Don't ever think about doing this yourself unless you have done it many times before. Even the pro's have problems with the Dodge's.
