Hi, I am new here and just thought I would ask other Dodge Guru's what is the best size exhaust pipe to use on a totally Custom Dual Exhaust System for a D150 with a 6.6L with 272/455/110 Mopar Purple Shaft, 850 thermoquad?

I keep wanting to go Dual 3" with Cross Over Muffler....but my senses say I don't need more than dual 2.5".

If I add a Remote Mount turbo later, which one would be the best to already have?

I've got a 440 with a comp cams 280/480/110 and a Holley 780 DP. With all the research I did, the optimum size was 2 1/2" with a cross over. This keeps the velocity up through the system resulting in better scavenging during the exhaust stroke. If you go to big the exhaust gas slows down and then has to be pushed out...less power.
Don't know about turbos. Would be an interesting project on a big block.:rck:

Thanks for everyones input.

I will be fabbing the 100% Mandrel Bent system myself, with the exception of the Premade Flanges, Flex Joints and X-Muffler. No Dumps/Cutouts.

Due to the price of t304 Stainless, I will be using Mild Steel, Aluminized tubing, MIG welding all joints.
