the LD stands for Light Duty. Check your glove box sticker to see if the axle is Trac-Loc or not. As far as I know the 9.25 is available only on the 2-WD Limited.
the 9.25 diff is very strong. Dodge uses the 8.25 and 9.25 interchangibly on the 4WD's and uses the 9.25 on all 2WD's. There is another good thread in the archives on axle strength. http://www.dodgetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68272
LD/Lght Duty.... Doesn't inspire confidence. They need to call it something else like SD - Standard Duty, Suburban Duty, or .....Soccermom Duty. Or better yet, offer a Heavy Duty option....come on now...we all know most of us would want it.
