I was doing some routine service on the truck and noticed this electrical connection hanging behind the left headlight, kinda under the battery. It’s part of a wiring bundle. I’ve never noticed it before. It doesn’t look like there is anything near it to plug into. Is it there for options my truck didn’t come with, or is it supposed to be hooked up to something? Please advise.

It’s the extended cab, 1500, 2WD, 5.2L. (It was the least expensive when I purchased it new. Not sure of the “trim”.)

oops, missed all that/truck details in your sig line.

More likely than not, it's going to be a connector for factory fog/driving lights or similar. a left over pre-wired plug so the dealer can charge you an arm and a leg when you add a factory accessory. there should be a bunch more under your dash.
