Replaced fuel filter due to buying cheap fuel and thought that would cure the problem.

Worked for a few miles then the light came on again. Went off and on then just stayed on.

Now it just stays on. Drained fuel several times in case there was more water in the fuel than I imagined.

What happens next?

Thanks

Light doesn't go off even after emptying!

I have an extra fuel tank in the bed. The cap has a hole in the top where a plastic cap used to be. I haven't used the tank for a year because I stopped hauling RV's. A whole lot of rain must have collected!

Even when I empty the water the light doesn't go off. If I leave the lever open over night will the water drain out slowly or does the engine need to turn on so it collects and drains out?

Thanks for reponding.

Is this on a diesel? If it is I think I would just unhook your aux. tank and completely drain it. After that I'd open the water drain on the canister and turn the key on for about 5 min just to flush the line out.
