A couple questions. 1st,do i have to put the little sheild back on or will it be o.k. without because it doesent fit on anymore. 2nd, do you think the little peice of pipe will melt due to the heat. thanks for any help i can get. im tryin to put a couple pics i took on this, hope i did it right.

Thai PVC will be okay but if that stoub out of the firewall caused leakage don't you think dodge would have a cover for it? I have a 97dakota sport 4x4 and it did the same thing only it was both sides. have someone spray a hose at all your weather stripping especially at the bottom corners of your windshield while You sit inside with a flashlight and look under the dash and the side where the wires for your door run through, that is where my leak was coming from.

I had an 02 Dakota that filled the passager floor with water. I took it to the dealer under warranty and they fixed it. Then a year later it started leaking in again. On another Dakota forum there was alot of this happening. It is the A/C drain. Alot of guys found that the seam needed to be recaulked. That PVC should work. But if it was me I would of used copper tubing instead of PVC. Get a 1/2" 90 and solder a short piece of 1/2" tubing to it and JB Weld it on. Then heat wouldn't be an issue.
