Hey everyone. I know this is a little off topic, but any help would be great!
My brother-in-law just purchased a 2004 dakota crewcab from a local dodge dealer. It has 30xxx miles. I know these trucks come with the standard 3yr/36000 warranty, but do they also have the 7yr/70000 like our Rams? The dealer made him pay $1200 for an additional powertrane warranty, but I'm wondering if they "ripped him off" out of a 7yr/70000 warranty. Any help would be great!!!!!

Yes the 04 Dakota's have the 7/70 powertrain for 1st owners and 2nd owners who pay a $150 Fee within 30 days. Below is copied from the 04 Dakota warranty book. You can download it from http://www.dodge.com/owners/index.html

2.2 Powertrain Limited Warranty
A. Who is Covered?
You are covered by the Powertrain Limited
Warranty if you are the first purchaser for use of
the vehicle. You are also covered if you are the
second purchaser for use of the vehicle, and have
paid the $150 transfer fee within 30 days of
purchase. See Section 2.2.F for more information
about transfer of coverage.
