Is it possible to change out the top serp pulley without releasing the tension on the tensioner? I put in a new EGR valve several months ago. So I replaced the belt and tensioner as welI. I had purchased a new Gates brand top pulley or idler wheel and had that to also install. But as I did the work, comparing the original with the Gates, I thought the OEM looks to be better quality, so I did not install the Gates one. Now it is squeaking, so I wish I had put it in when I had the chance.
But I was just hoping it can be done from the top, without releasing the tension. Possible? I doubt it, but hoping.

I don't think it would be too easy. Juggling everything and keeping the belt on there. It's annoying enough as it is keeping everything in place under normal circumstances. I've got to go back into my 07 to change a chirping pulley, probably the idler. Cheers!!
