I have a 5.9 magnum and bought a 5.7 magnum and I was wondering if the transmission will fit on my 5.9 or will I have to swap the engine in order for it to fit?

Back up. Let's start with what truck you have. Just because you posted in 2nd gen doesn't mean that's what you actually are working with (if I had a dollar.....).

I have a 98 dodge and the truck I’m getting is a 99

I just found out that it’s a 5.2

Yes they will fit and hook up your engine , 2000 and 2001 will have different plug ,and inside it has different sensor connections on the valve body, make sure the plug on the side with all the pins has the same amount of pins and same color, dont want to confuse you but you CAN use a 2000 and 2001 if you swap the main harness plug and all sensors to the other transmission if you have to
