I have just replaced my tranny in my 97 1500, with a low milage used. Worked great for the first week but now doing the same thing the old was, not shifting at all. I removed the PCM cable from the top of the tranny and also the speed sensor cable and cleaned them. Alot of tran fluid was in the pcm cable connector so i used a vacuum and got it cleaned. The sensor looked fine. I reconnected everything and took a drive, she shifted no problems?? Then this morning i drive it and it wont shift again?? Is this most likely a PCM problem or connector? How can i diagnos? Guy's computer at shop found nothing awhile back, everything looked good. Please help. Also i have got a 2000 1500 pcm from a friend can this work in my 97'?

Well it's possible that the trans. fluid getting in the connector is screwing things up. Try cleaning it again and see what happens.

I wouldn't think a PCM from a 2000 would work in a '97.
