I have a 95 Dodge2500 2wd and a1998 Dodge 3500 4wd both with automatic trannys. I was wandering if anyone could tell me if these trannys should be the same or if they would interchange? :help: :help: :help: :help: :huh:

i dont think the trans are interchangeable i would think the 3500 is beefed up to pull more and the 1500 is more light duty check into to it all ask my friend at the dodge dealer he is the service manager i'll let you know what i find out

The output shafts on a 2wd and a 4wd are different lengths and possibly spline counts. Since you have both you may be able to swap the tailhousing and shaft from one to the other. A quick chat with the guys at a local tranny shop may give you the solid info you're looking for. Offer to buy the guys coffe and donuts to spend a few minutes explaining the differences. Being friendly will get you a long way and a lot of info... Chris
