hey guys i was nicely drivin home and for no reason the tranny jumped out of O/D i am tryin to figure out why i know that the button is not the best any more could it be something else ? any tips or sugestions thanks in advance

That ain't good. I'd get it looked at asap. One thing I have noticed is if you have the cruise on and it's really windy, Sometimes it will want to drop out of overdrive to maintain speed.

this is the first time it did it the light on the O/D button came on and like i said earlier it is a base model so no cruise control i know that the button for the O/D is broken it works but push to hard it goes into the dash

i am goin to get another switch so maybe (hopfully) thats what the problem is thanks for all the help so far

no it was more of a random event it just happened so i am gettin the switch replaced but no there is no check engine light or trans temp light

just an update i did change the switch but i haven't had the chance to take it out on a long drive yet so i'll wait to see what happens ....
