I have a 98 1500 with 265 70 17 tires and 3.55 gears. Do you think it ok to tow a trailer with 2 dirt bikes and a 4 wheeler in overdrive? I was thinking of going to 4.11's but if I need to tow in 3rd then I might stick with the 3.55's to keep the rpm's down. What are your thoughts on this. Thanks

when towing I have always been told not to use Overdrive. The 4.11 rears would make it easier to tow with your truck but for the amount of weight I see no reason to NEED to switch. I am pretty sure that from the factory your model eyar can tow around 4650 with that gear ration. Either way 2 dirt bikes and a 4 wheeler I doubt would add up to close to that. But which ever way you decide to go do not use overdrive when towing is what I have been told.
