I start hitting the lots tomorrow for my first diesel. :rck: Anything I need to look for in the 5.9L or 6.7L depending on who's got what on the lot? ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated since this will be my first diesel! Thanks in advance guys!
well i got one used also with 32000 on the clock look to see if the turbo has been hot or the heat shield on the exhaust manifold usually if its had a programer on it. ive been reading the 6.7 are having some problems but also
that they are a great motor. i bought used cuase i wanted the tried and true
5.9 and just fell in love with mine.
good luck with the search and im sure more will post up to give better advice
I went with a slightly used, 2007 2500 5.9 HD, Quad, S/B. 13K on it. The 6.7 is or at least was, having some emission problems. The 5.9 is a proven engine. I never buy the first year of anything. I like to give the manufacture a year to work out the bugs. That includes the Playstation3, (which was a disaster the first year).
