i have a 96 2500 CTD and i removed the timing pin to adjust the valves and now i cannot figure out how to get the retaining ring back on. im sure its way easier than im making it. someone help please!!
i figured it out, the retaining ring just snaps back into place...with a little persuasion of course. i took it out to find top dead center, its how the haynes manual suggested to do it. but i gave up after not being able to actually see the hole (its under the injection pump)
That book says push the pin in while cranking the motor with a barring tool then stop when the pin drops into it's little hole on the P7100 inline injector pump gear..I bought the same book the day I bought my truck so's to get up quick on fuel filters & pumps.
