Hope you guys have an idea on this, because I've never experienced this one!
Vehicle: 2003 Ram QC 1500 5.7 58k miles.
Problem - On the way in to work today, my "check engine" light, the "check gages" light, and the temperature warning light came on. I looked and noticed the coolent temp was max'd at the red line. Thought it may be a termostat issue. Once I shut the truck off and back on, the temp returned to the normal range. Here's where it gets interesting - as I accelerate, the temp gage moves to cold immediately. As I lift my foot off the gas, the gage immediately returns to normal range. FYI - I replaced the coolent sensor this summer. Also, all coolant levels are in the appropriate ranges. No leaks appearing. Any idea what on earth is going on??
