Can anyone tell me how their truck tows and climbs grades with larger tires (specifically 35's) with the standard 3:73 gears? I live out west (lots of hills) and frequently tow a 7500 LB. trailer. With the stock 265's, I hardly know its back there except on really steep hills. I'm just wondering if I will need to plan on regearing the truck if I go with the 35's... its a 2006 CTD. Also, is there a way to reprogram the speedo? I have seen the modules available for doing so. Does anyone have any experience with any of them. Thanks.
If you have a CTD, you'll be fine towing with 35's. As far as the speedo goes, the dealer can't get it done (they tried three times for me). Mine is still off by about 8%. There are a few programmers that can make the adjustment.
