Does any one have anything good or bad to say about superchips performance chip for a 2002 dodge ram. I was considering purchasing one, but I don't know anyone who owns one. The obvious question I have is, how are the power gains? Is it worth it or should i save my money and get a new set of gears.

I also own a 2002 with the 4.7L and I have a superchips.You will feel a difference from stock as in shift firmness and how the truck reacts to WOTand some more power with the Performance tune.But if you compare superchips to gears,gears will give you an install feel.But that its worth the money, it is.

There must be a few dozen DT'ers that run either the 3715 or 3815 Superchips in their trucks. As far as I know, not a single one has ever said, "What's the big deal? I don't feel anything?"

I have the Superchips and you will feel a difference like already mentioned at WOT and mid range. Don't expect a bunch of power however. The gears do not make more horsepower but your will get going much faster in less time. I have both and can say that they work together.

I've got the SC on my 02 and could tell the diffrence. The biggest thing I noticed is that when pulling a hill here in the mountains on the highway the truck doesnt have to kick down a gear to stay at speed. I also corrected my spedo for the taller tires and it actullay improved my gas milage from 10.2 mpg to 11.4 mpg. That included highway and around town. Also a good improvement in acceleration when you put your foot in it.
