I agree, its probably too small. In theory 2 farad is suppose to support 2,000 watts, but in reality most do not. You'd be better off just spending the money to get a 10 farad digital cap. And yes the cap can read the voltage that is passing through it, but I dont think that necessarily means that it is charged up.

your better off getting a second battery lol.
i had a 10 farad cap with a 6000 watt amp and a 220 amp alt and it did nothing for me.
added a second battery and it almost totally cleared up my flashing issues. the cap is still hanging out in my garage i think

I'm sure, 2nd battery would be optimal, trying to limit expenses here, though another batt would not have been that much more.
When I crank it, the readout on the cap wildly fluctuates, from the high 12's to mid 13's. As I turn it down, it will go back up to the high 13's and low 14's, so for sure it is drawing juice, whether it is passing the built up charge like it should I have no way to tell.
