I removed the plug wires to get right tool on the dist cap screws, and proceeded to snap them off, so I took the easy root and picked up a reman distributor. I didn't have the gumption to drill out the screws, potentially ruining the good core.
The corrosion inside the cap was severe, so this should help the "crank but not start" on cold damp mornings.
Of course I traded in the core which had my alignment marks so the distributor alignment must be off, I have some major hesitation now. I will have to set that tomorrow.
TDC No.1 and Rotor to Plug No.1 position, or do I need a scanner tool to get it right?
