I hear this often....."wish my truck was a manual".....
But, in all fairness, also hear people say they don't want to be bothered with shifting.

So here we go........ :IDEA:

#1- My truck is a stickshift and I like it that way.

#2-My truck is an automatic and I like it that way.

#3-My truck is an auto, but wish it was a stickshift.

#4-My truck has a stick but I wish it was an automatic

Really depends what it is your driving, small, sporty and agile I like a stick. Big V8 with a lot of torque I like auto.

That is what I have at home...for a commuter vehicle auto is just more convenient (sitting in traffic).

I like having the five speed automatic...but...I think that it would be great to have a 5 (or 6!!!) speed stick shift in the Hemi. I think that it would be a great option for people who want to race, or people who do a lot of towing and don't want the auto hunting for the right gear.

IMO an automatic tranny has no place in a 1 ton diesel truck...

hell if i had a 1500 i would get the 4.7 just so i could have the six-speed in it

I really wanted my Hemi with an manual, but as we all know, they didn't offer it in a 1500.

Maybe the new owners will do things differently. If not, "Hello Toyota."

Interesting.........the manual is gaining ground in this poll....sort of.....
13 people have auto's and like them....but...
10 have auto's and want manual's, and another 5 have manual's and like them.

So 15-13 in favor of the manual tranny!!

My Dakota is a 5 speed, I wouldnt have it any other way!! My thunderbird is also a 5 speed, so the two vehicles that I drive all the time are both stick shift. I do find myself taking our Durango out just so I dont have to shift every once and awhile.

But I still wouldnt change my manual trans!

Well for a sports car you gotta go manual. For a 1500 pick-up, auto is great. So since you're asking on Dodgetalk.com, not Mustang-forums.com I voted "have an automatic, and like it that way".
I love slamming through the gears in my car, but when I'm driving my truck I like to take it slow, cruise, and not worry about what gear I should be in.
