i recently brought my truck in for excessive play in the steering. I put a new steering box in last november. They told me i had 3" of play in the box. It is scary to drive on city streets let alone the highway. Do you think an adjustment will cure this or should i replace it. If adjustment is needed, how is that performed? any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you(98 2500 4x4)

if you bought a new steering box last november, I would check to see if it's actually the box. Then see if their is a warranty on the box.
Usually their is atleast a 1 year warranty.
Any idea why it would be worn out so quickly?
If you can get someone to work the wheel back and forth you can look under the truck and find where the play is at.
Do this with the engine off, start from the pitman arm and work your way out.
