so what exactly is the difference?

My 2001 Dodge Ram quad cab 5.9L auto 2wd has the regular suspension (which has 5 leafs) and my 1999 Dodge Ram quad cab 5.9L auto 2wd has the heavy duty suspension option, but it only has 4 leafs? :huh:
One of my Dodge Ram buddies came over the other day and he said that he has seen that a few times and the HD only has 4 leafs :YO:
Doesn't make sense to me. The leafs looks to be the same thickness/size on both trucks.

My 2500HD V10 has wider springs, I don't know if this is what you are asking about or not.

The leafs looks to be the same thickness/size on both trucks.

By my well trained eye they look like they are the same thickness. I'll have to measure them when the weather gets a little warmer and see if the leafs are indeed thicker on the 4-leaf springs than on the 5 leaf spings.
