I was installing a remote start on my '05 dakota and shorted my constant power wire to my steering column to ground. it blew fuse #2 a 40amp socket fuse with the window on the top. when i went to drive the truck the engine light was on and the speedo wasnt working, however the odometer was not ticking off any more miles as i drove as well, also the hvac was froze at the last setting it was at.

So, if for any reason you need to know this (people who lease espicially) this fuse is responsible for your speedo and odometer and hvac. Also this will set off an OBDC-II code "speedo not functioning." I Drove around 200 miles like this until i figured out that the fuse was blown and had no problems, when i cleared the code all went back to normal.
