I just got SP slotted rotor and EBC Green supreme brake pads, ceramic/kevlar.
With the rotors came a sheet that says they do not recommend ceramic pads with their rotors. It then lists out the kind of rotors they sell;
Grey coated - this is what I got
Plated rotors - under this heading it says do not use ceramic pads
non-coated rotors.
I called Auto Anything where I got them from and they haven't heard anything about that since they just started carrying SP rotors.
I called SP and the guy there sounded pretty clueless and said, "yeah we don't recommend ceramic pads with our rotors but you can try them" I couldn't get the reason why out of him.
Anyone using this combo? Would you install them if you were me?
