Your check engine light can be triggered by a multitude of signals from your OBDII system. You need to check what the code is. You can read it yourself by turning your key ON (do not start)-OFF-ON-OFF-ON on the third ON any codes should flash on the odometer window. Once you have the code, you can determine what the code is from OBDII.com, a web search, site search or just post what it is here. As mentioned above, if you cannot get it yourself Autozone will read it for free.

That is correct, I had seen it posted before that in the great state of CA, Autozone is not allowed to read.......errrr diagnosis problems.

Why go to Autozone when you can get it youself?

Glad you got it but there not to be accurate about. The code is simple to determine. There are lots of sites that have exactly what the code means.
