I have a 2002 Ram with the 5.9 in it. I normally don't drive it like a race car, but tonight on my way to work I had to stomp on it from a stop. When it got to about 5000 rpms and was ready to shift outta first gear, I guess the rev limiter engaged and it sputtered a couple of times then switched gears and dropped the rpms and took off.

At first I wasn't sure what it was, so I tried again and the same thing happened. Both times I was either on flat ground or going down hill. I tried a third time on my way to work going up a hill from a stop light and it hit the mark and shifted without missing a beat.

Was it just a fluke or is there something I need to keep an eye on?

Also I know it isn't good to keep it hammered while it shifts, but didn't think it should do what it did either.

Thanks for any advise.

That looks like exactlly what mine is doing, guess the solenoid is sticking a bit but not every time since it doesn't do it every time. I gotta check with the dealer about my dash speakers anyway, guess I'll run it past 'em. Thanks for the info.
