Short tailshaft 727

I'm swapping a 318 for 360, problem lies with the trans crossmember, drive shaft, and differential. From what I've read this particular 727 has a bolt on yoke won't allow enough play between the transmission and differential. The truck is a long bed. Do I need a two piece drive shaft? Can I install a slip yoke without a costly trip to the transmission shop?

short shaft trans w/ bolt on drive shaft was used with 2 pc drive shaft with carrier bearing. The adjustability of length was built into in the 2 piece drive assy, rather than having a slip yoke that slides in and out of the trans tail shaft. I don't think you will be able to just change tail housings as the output shaft length would be different and would require a trans teardown. If you have the two piece shaft and bearing it could be used and made to work.
