Can anyone comment on after-market running boards? High quality brands? The strongest boards? Etc!!

I have an 05 SLT Hemi, 4x4 and I'm looking into buying anything other than those grocery gettin' factory boards (no offense to those who have them)
I'm not much of a nerf bar fan, not on the D at least. I noticed one set of boards offered by Luverne that seem pretty cool. It is the:

LUVERNE S/S RUNNING BOARDS 04-07 DODGE DURANGO for around $300.
(It looks like these boards connect in 4 places, so I hope they would be strong)

Also, has anyone tried installing the Mopar Front Splash Guards (molded or unmolded to factory running boards) with any aftermarket boards?

Thanks!

why running boards? they just get caught on stuff when off the beaten path.
as for durability, don't get fiber glass ones, they will crack easily if they are banged against something.
The tubular nerf bars are good for protecting the side skin.

I agree with chizzle1. I have the Westin Platinum Series Chrome Side Step Bars. They were not so easy to put on but weigh less than the stock running boards and look way better.

Matrix Man do you have any pics of your D with the Westin side step bars on? Im just debating what to do. After i had my eibachs installed i took my running boards off but it looks very unfinished. I was thinking of picking a set of these up either in chrome or powder coated black to match my truck.

Here's how the Westin Platinum Series Chrome Side Step Bars look on our D. We've had them on for about a year and a half and they're holding up great (and they look awesome if I do say so myself)!
